Built two years after the New Course, in 1897, this centenary course is the longest course at St Andrews, with its 6,162 yards from the championship tees. This layout requires accurate driving and lots of skill to stop the ball close to the hole.

This course, built in 1914, is an interesting and challenging lay-out but less difficult in comparison with its neighbours, the Old, the New and the Jubilee Courses.
