The world famous golf course is a classic links course. Here Golf began 600 years ago, on public land, to which everyone can have access.

In the top 5 of the best courses in the world, the Old course is totally unique for two reasons; firstly because of its long history and secondly because golfers have to play certain shots here that they will play nowhere else, (for example, a 60 metres putt!).

The name of the architect is unknown but mother-nature has shaped this magnificent piece of land over the centuries, like most Scottish golf courses.

This famous course regularly plays host to the British Open and will host the Open again in July 2009. This is a really big test for Golfers with spectacular holes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Like St Andrews, Turnberry is ranked in the top 10 of the best golf courses in the world, which shows the scope of this incredible place. Probably the most scenic golf course in the whole of Scotland, it has to be experience at least once in a lifetime. There is a second course available called the Kintyre which beautifully complements the Ailsa course.

Designed by Old Tom Morris in 1889 this famous course has built a solid reputation by hosting many British Opens, won by great champions such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Lee Trevino.
Amongst the best courses in the world Muirfield is special because of its design, a clockwise outward-nine encircling an anti-clockwise inward-nine.

Formed in 1877, Dornoch has now been a Royal club for over 100 years! This worldwide famous links is without any doubt in the top 20 of the best golf courses in the world. The remote location of the course is magnificent with stunning views on the sea. The course is just over 6,500 yards and stand as the flag-ship of this wonderful region. A must to add to your package. Also, the pretty village of Dornoch is well worth the visit.

Known as the most difficult Open venue course, “Carnasty” as people call it, is not a course for high handicaps.
Designed by Old Tom Morris and later extended by James Braid, this legendary golf course is a fantastic test of golf for good players with fast, true and excellent greens all year round.
Scottish people like to remember a French story from 1999!!! when Jean Van de Velde lost the Open, after being 3 shots ahead as he came to the last hole. It is well worth the visit, only 30 minutes North of St Andrews.

Founded in 1878, this course is a little jewel on the coast located in the town of Troon. The course has staged many British Opens. The back nine is one of the most difficult in the world of Golf and provides terrific “suspense” when the open is hosted in Troon. Hole number 8, a par 3 called the “postage stamp”, is famous, and as its name suggests, it is very small and difficult to hit, especially when the wind is high. Two more golf courses are available at Troon Golf Club. The Portland course which is a links course, and Craigend course which is a par 3 course.

This is a classic links in the North of Aberdeen and positioned in the top 100 of the best golf courses in the world.

The first hole is described as the best opening hole in the world. We understand why when we stand on the tee and realise that you have to carry the ball over the beach and the Atlantic Ocean to find the fairway.

This the 13th oldest golf course in the world, founded in 1832 and probably one of the courses that is closest to the origins of the game.
The architect is unknown but people will tell you that “mother nature” created this stunning classic links course.
It is one of the most attractive links courses in the country with some magnificent holes where you feel as though you are walking on the beach.
Great value for money. Of particular interest is the 13th hole which is unique, with a wall separating the fairway from the green.

This is the 6th oldest golf club in the world, founded in 1780 and described by many famous champions as the best ”first 9 holes” in Great-Britain.
This is an immense, classic links to add to a golf tour. The charm of the course comes from its elevated tees, with great views to the North sea and from all the contours around big dunes.
