Golf at Kingarrock (unique in Europe!)
This 9-hole course (2,022 yards or 1849 metres) built at the beginning of the 20th century and only 20 minutes away from St Andrews, is mentioned in our web-site because it is the only golf course in Scotland and in Europe where you can play “hickory” Golf.Modern clubs are banned and the only way to play golf is to use hickory clubs (old wooden shaft golf clubs).
You will receive a warm welcome with a glass of whisky or port and an explanation about the site and how to play with wooden clubs. At the end of your round a glass of ginger beer with shortbread will be offer to celebrate this true experience.
You have a wonderful opportunity to add this experience to your tour and to be associated with history that stretches back to the beginning of golf, whilst playing with guaranteed “authentic wooden golf clubs” and the softer golf balls they used.
